Te Hiku Okoro is a Māori language programme based in the Far North of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Known as Te Hiku o Te Ika.

Te Hiku Okoro is apart of the Ministry of Education’s Te Ahu o Te Reo Māori initiative, which aims to grow proficiency and competence in Te Reo Māori within the Education Sector.

Our Team

The Te Hiku Okoro team is made up of a collective of individuals who whakapapa to Te Hiku o Te Ika, Te Taitokerau. Each member is passionate about te reo Māori, teaching and growing te reo Māori proficiency and fluency within the Community.

The belief is that this is for our tamariki. This will benefit all our tamariki within the Education Sector and community.
